Building healthy communities through nature-based programming
Partner with us
Therapeutic Gardening
We work with you to establish therapeutic gardening programming at your location. Our approach integrates mindfulness practices, creative nature-based activities, and hands-on gardening to cultivate a peaceful, educational and safe environment for self-discovery, expression and interpersonal connection.
We partner with shelters, non-profits, and community centers to bring nature-based programming to all ages. We work with individuals, groups, parent-child dyads, and families in indoor and outdoor environments.
Nature Connection
Our nature connection programming goes beyond the garden and human-made spaces to foster connection with the wilderness. As nature mentors, we facilitate experiences that cultivate a sense of belonging in the natural world through deep listening, skill-building and healthy risk-taking.
Rites of Passage
Rites of Passage mark a transition in ones life, whether transitioning homes, gaining a new sense of independence, or going through a developmental change. We all experience rites of passage, but many of us rarely have the opportunity to be witnessed in our change and celebrated. We work with communities to develop culturally-responsive experiential programming that honors the change in one’s life for individuals and groups.
About the Team
Rooted Hands Collective is a team of therapeutic horticulturalists, nature-based artists, and wilderness guides.
Cheyenne Schultz (she/her), Founder is a therapeutic horticulturist, part-time farmer, and botanical artist dedicated to using nature-based activities to cultivate connections with individuals, the environment, and her community. Over the past five years, she has gained extensive experience working on diverse organic farms, including livestock farming in Alaska, organic orchards in Hawaii, and regenerative no-till farming in Woodinville, Washington. She combines botanical art and therapeutic horticulture to provide creative nature-based therapy for individuals seeking healing through nature and deeper connections with the natural world.
Abbey Loos (she/her), Founder is a facilitator of healing experiences centered around nature connection, art, song, and movement. As a registered yoga teacher and master’s student in clinical mental health counseling, her approach integrates accessible practices in mindfulness, somatic psychotherapy, and intuitive movement. She is an apprentice at the Wilderness Awareness School, where she leads teens and adults through rites of passage, self-discovery, conflict resolution, and challenge-by-choice activities. She stewards Seaforest, a 5-acre campground and educational center on the Olympic Peninsula, where we host workshops on natural building, nature-based crafting, wilderness-skill building, personal development, and community resilience.
